North Creek Kids ("North Creek Kids," "we," "us," or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports youth educational and extracurricular programs, including North Creek High School Theatre and local Cub Scout and BSA troops. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website (northcreekkids.com), our Backstage member portal (backstage.nchstheatreco.com, owned and operated by North Creek Kids), or otherwise interact with North Creek Kids.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Contact information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number.
Member portal information, such as program or troop affiliation, volunteer roles, and notification preferences when you create or update a Backstage account.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in status, collected only when you affirmatively opt in to receive text messages through Backstage. See our SMS Information page for details.
Donation information, such as donation amounts and related correspondence, when you contribute to North Creek Kids.
Website usage information collected automatically, such as browser type and pages visited, which helps us maintain and improve the site.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate and administer the programs North Creek Kids supports, including volunteer coordination and event logistics
Send rehearsal, volunteer, production, and other operational communications by email or SMS to users who have opted in
Process and acknowledge donations
Respond to inquiries sent to us
Maintain the security and functionality of the Backstage member portal and our website

SMS / Text Messaging Data

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information collected as part of the SMS consent process (including phone numbers) will not be shared with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. This does not include our SMS platform providers (such as Twilio) who process messages on our behalf solely to deliver the service.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

Service providers who help us operate our website, member portal, email, and SMS communications (such as our hosting and messaging providers), under obligations to protect your information
Program leaders and volunteer coordinators for the specific program(s) you or your student participate in, as necessary to coordinate activities
Government agencies or professional advisors, where required by law or to maintain our tax-exempt status

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate the programs we support, comply with legal and tax obligations, and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. You may request that we delete your Backstage account information or remove you from SMS or email communications at any time.

Your Choices

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP or updating your preferences in Backstage.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Children's Information

Some programs we support serve minors. Where we collect information about a student participant, we do so with the involvement of a parent or guardian through the Backstage member portal, and we use that information solely to operate the relevant program.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
